Story

In high school, history wasn’t one of my favorite subjects. I had many teachers approach different ways of teaching it, but it always seemed boring to me. College came, and I had to take two more history courses before finishing with history courses forever. Those two semesters were some of the most pivotal of my life because I had a professor that sparked a love and appreciation for history within me. 

After that, I became entranced with historical shows, movies, stories, and facts. I tried picking up historical books but let’s just say we didn’t hit it off… However, I went from being bored with learning the history of our country and world to realizing that history isn’t just a subject in school; history is happening all around us. We’re making history with every breath we take. That realization turned my perspective upside down. Everything that once bored me happened to someone’s very real life long ago.

I speak about all of this because this strap reminds me of history class. It reminds me of the days we’d spend discussing the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, and all things George Washington. Once, I would’ve groaned about those words. Now, I realize the importance of knowing it all. It’s important to discover how things started and evolved, and it’s essential to learn from them.

United We Stand is a very important reminder that we’re all in this together. No matter what battles we face or stories we endure, we all have a history that unites us, and we’re on the path of creating a new chapter for future history books each day. I hope this strap inspires you to take a new perspective on things like it did for me.
