Story:
On November 8th, 2018 - the entire world saw firsthand what it meant to put others first. Sheriff's Sgt. Ron Helus, responding to a mass shooting, arrived first on the scene. He called his wife on the way and told her he loved her, then ran inside. Tragically, that was the last call he ever made.

We've made Straps in the past as a way to say thank you to those who have served - both military and first responders. The impact of this specific situation, though, made it all very real to me. You see, this happened right down the street from my office - it could have very easily been my friends or family inside. The idea that a man with a family of his own would risk his life, knowing very well that he may not make it really put things in perspective. He paid the ultimate price for people he didn't even know - that, to me, is a true hero.

My hope for this Strap is that it'll be a daily reminder of gratitude for our friends in blue - the ones who selflessly serve to keep communities safe.
