Persevere

I absolutely love the definition of persevere: Continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little to no prospect of success. 

Of all the reminders we've made this year, this one in particular is something I think every single one of us need. How many times have you been in a situation that feels like there's very little potential for success? Like regardless of what you may try, it's probably all for nothing? 

In my own life, it's more times than I can count - I've felt broken, defeated, outnumbered and overwhelmed. But as I reflect back on those moments now, especially  given the luxury of time to see their conclusion, I realized that perseverance is a superpower. It's what changes outcomes - what separates our fears from our hopes. 

When I wrote the card for this ZOX, I wrote it to say the words that are often difficult to say to someone directly: 

I know, it's harder than you expected. But you're strong, you're courageous, and you're going to make it through this. You always do. 

These are the words I wished someone had said to me last time I was struggling. Recognizing my struggles, then reminding me that I have everything I need within me to overcome them, as I have before. 

My hope for this ZOX is that you put it to use, both in your own life and the lives of others. It's meant to be that reminder you can look down at on your wrist when times are tough as a little hug of encouragement that you are capable of greater things than you realize.
